Quirky art deco hotel very close to the waterfront and the center of town. The food is good and the staff were very friendly. My room (single) was quite small, the bed was build against three walls and not suitable for anyone over 1.80m. The room was clean and well appointed. The gym is tiny, really a bedroom size
Very nice building/place but the staff is not very nice or good at what they so (few exceptions). The shows are great at Berns, the food is usually very good too. As a nightclub? Not worth the expensive entrance and expensive drinks for a poor dance floor . Go there for a show and dinner but not anything else. Same experience for both corporate event and for private experiences.
Berns Hotel is in a great location in Stockholm, and the staff has all been extremely nice! I have never had such a wonderful huge breakfast buffet in a hotel, with countless delicious foods, and the dining area is do beautiful! The rooms are nice, but they vary greatly in size and look, even though the prices remain the same.
Deeply disappointedFor a boutique hotel, the level of hospitality was completely unacceptable. This was the worst stay out of 7 hotels on our recent trip. We booked a 6th floor room with balcony (not a standard room).- Room was not ready at 14:00, nor 14:30. The front desk was hopeful that it would (might?) be ready in the next 45 minutes. We were able to check in at 15:30 - after waiting in line at reception a second time to find out. In spite of the fact that we had to wait for the room to be ready, when we arrived it was very dusty (when maids stopped by the next morning to refresh the room, they left it cleaner than it was when we checked in!).- The room key system was malfunctioning, so we had to be escorted upstairs to be allowed into the room. When we returned to the front desk later in the evening to have our keys activated, after waiting in line we overheard the system was still down.- Still later, by 22:00 the key system was functional. Of course we had to wait in line again in order to have the keys actually activated this time.- The room was run down - paint chipping off edges, light (makeup) fingerprints on door frames and table surfaces, etc. A large wine stain on the carpet. Bathroom fixtures were loose/falling off the walls: the bathtub basket/shelf, and the folding vanity mirror.- The curtain overhanging the round window was completely crooked. Is this major? No, but it indicates carelessness and is entirely unacceptable for a hotel that markets itself as luxury.- Ashtray on our balcony had not been emptied. As non-smokers, we certainly noticed (smell).- The shower gel amenity was opened and half full. Again, not major, but unacceptable for a boutique hotel. Oversights like these stood in stark contrast to the branding the hotel engaged in; the core basics of hospitality were ignored while brand image prevailed.Overall, all of these details added up to cast a shadow of disappointment and frustration on our stay. We wasted a significant amount of time waiting at the desk multiple times due to the room keys system malfunctioning. The staff, while friendly, seemed very ill equipped to handle the problems encountered. We were never able to speak to a manager and the front desk was the opposite of proactive in addressing our dissatisfaction - nothing offered to make up for all the issues. Overall I very much regret booking at Berns.
Pretty negative experience on a business travel. Given the smallest room of the hotel, with a window pointing to the back street club.Location is nice though
