We loved this place, and we almost missed it! We only entered because it was included on the Stockholm pass, but it wasn't in our plans. The park is a nice place to spend an afternoon (or a whole day!) walking around enjoying the nature, the old houses and the small shops and food stands. I was a bit worried about it having a zoo inside , but i was happy to see that the animals seemed well taken care of, with big spaces and that most of them were local. We enjoyed the afternoon there and wouldn't mind going again next time !
Coming from New Zealand where no snakes, and only one or poisonous animals exist, this was a great chance to see some up close.
I love this place. You have to pay an extra fee to visit the aquarium. You can see Lemurs, baboons, crocodiles, snakes, sloths, small monkeys, lizards (yikes), ray fish, meerkats... and more. If you dare, you can face your fear and pet a snake and a tarantula at the end of the visit. (of course they are harmless) You have to visit the aquarium at least one time if you're visiting Skansen.
Well organized and lots of interesting animals to see! Had the ability to pet a snake and a spider at no additional cost which was a fun addition. The signs outside stated it'd be possible to pet stingrays but once inside they weren't even there, so that was misleading. The museum was smaller than I thought it'd be and the entrance area could be more open and with clearer signs on recommended route.
Many interesting animals including snakes like boa constrictor and pythons. You could let a boa!Very interesting.
